This book is one of our favorite guides for touring
Burgundy. It is definitely wine-centered, and organizes its information around
the different wine regions in Burgundy.
The legendary British wine expert Hugh Johnson edits this
series and the high quality of all he lends his name to is evident here. The
descriptions of the villages are first-rate, the recommended wine producers and
restaurants always top-notch (and the guide definitely offers options in a
variety of price ranges). The book also contains several clear, concise maps.
The kicker is that it is a very slim volume that is easy
to tote everywhere you go.
